Improved Cardiac SPECT with Convergent Hole Collimators

Major goals are to design collimators and algorithms for converging geometry single photon emission computed tomography. Algorithms include the correction for the physical effects of attenuation, scatter, geometric point response, and motion. Also included in the research is the development of mechanical models for the heart that are determined from SPECT and carefully evaluated in spontaneous hypertensive rats.

Dynamic Cardiac SPECT Imaging

The goal of this proposal is to develop methods that use existing single- and multi-detector SPECT systems; and, in so doing, make dynamic SPECT useful even in those clinics which have only single-detector SPECT systems and are thus not able to perform rapid acquisitions. A Clinical Evaluation to Determine Optimal Imaging Parameters for Tc-99m Teboroxime in Subjects With Coronary Artery Disease and Subjects With No Coronary Artery Disease

Major goals are to develop an optimum imaging protocol for imaging the rapidly exchanging radiopharmaceutical teboroxime-Tc-99m.
